Rise of Reciprocating Compressor Technology: Driving Industrial Performance

Reciprocating compressors, also known as a piston compressor, are types of positive displacement compressors that increase the pressure of a gas by reducing its volume through the back-and-forth movement of a piston inside a cylinder. They are common types of air compressors used in various industries and applications .     The main components of these compressors include a piston, cylinder, crankshaft, connecting rod, and valves. During operation, the piston moves downward, drawing gas into the cylinder through an intake valve. When the piston moves upward, the intake valve closes, the gas is compressed, and the compressed gas is discharged through an exhaust valve.
